Luminous Water Creatures

Just as one candle lights another and can light thousands of other candles, so one heart illuminates another heart and can illuminate thousands of other hearts.”

- Leo Tolstoy.

Keeping these motivational lines in mind, the students of grade I D along with their enterprising teacher Ms. Asmita, decided to enlighten the knowledge of all the other fellow students  by inculcating the spirit of inquiry in them in order to enhance their skills of critical thinking and problem solving.

For this, the students were encouraged to conduct rigorous research with regards to various underwater animals and analyze their characteristics against the features of various luminous water animals. Cross curricular activities integrating Math, Art and English were implemented to understand mathematical operations, furbish their art skills and boost their language competence. The students multiplied the suction tubes of certain animals with the number of their legs, various water animals were created using origami to display their artistic skills and poems were created and recited to exhibit their linguistic skills.

The main attraction of the activity was to light up their creations using paper circuits, depicting luminous water animals. They also created  engaging augmented reality videos to enhance their sensory experiences.

Let us all plunge into watching the video below to gain reviews from the students and the  teacher herself, in order to get a better idea about their journey of creating luminous water animals using paper circuits and other integrated cross curricular activities.
