Imagine, Innovate and Inspire

  “Innovation is seeing what everybody has seen and thinking what nobody has thought.” –Dr. Albert, Szent- Györgyi Everyone has the capacity to be innovative and creative in their day-to-day work. Sometimes all it takes is a spark to get the ideas flowing. Keeping this in mind, we challenged the Grade 5 students through a cross curricular Makers Design Project wherein they could develop their understanding of how Engineers create things for a better world and design a device with some path breaking features so that the Titanic- the Unsinkable Ship- actually becomes ‘Unsinkable’. This project was to enable the students to enhance their innovative skills. This was a cross curricular Maker’s Project integrating Science, Math, Art and Craft with English Literature. Initially, students were encouraged to research how ships work which sparked some really insightful discussions among the students.
