Tinkering with AI: Machine Learning at Mayoor Private School

“The best way to predict the future is to create it.” – Peter Drucker Our Grade 8 students brought this idea to life with their exciting project, classifying images using the Machine Learning for Kids platform . They trained a model with images of fruits—apples, bananas, and oranges—collecting and labeling the images to teach the AI. The model even displayed confidence percentages , showing how sure it was about each prediction. The students then took their project a step further by integrating the trained model into MIT App Inventor , creating an interactive app that allows users to see AI in action in real time. This process gave them hands-on experience with both AI concepts and app development, demonstrating how models can learn from data and make real-world decisions. As AI is an integral part of our lives , learning how to work with it is essential for the future. Our students are not just learning theory—they are actively implementing AI through hands-on projects. By expl...
